If you're looking for a delicious and refreshing drink for your next party, you'll want to give today's recipe a try!

This Strawberry Rum Punch is made with basic ingredients and it's so easy! The simple syrup is made from fresh strawberries, but almost any berry would be wonderful. I'm trying fresh cherries as soon as they're in season.

I can see myself sitting outside with some girlfriends and drinking a few of these next summer. This drink really is great any time of the year, especially Valentine's day. The pink and red colors are festive and it would be a perfect addition to an at home Valentine's date dinner.

Recipe tips:

  • The simple syrup can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to one week before using.
  • If you like fruity pulp in your drinks, don't strain the simple syrup and just cool before using.
  • Normally simple syrup is equal parts sugar and water, but we opted to use less sugar since the lemon lime soda is sweet as well.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of rum depending on your preference. This is also great with vodka, plain or flavored or with riesling wine.
