I just recently jumped on the quinoa bandwagon. I love most grains and the earthy flavor they have. They are my absolute favorite when used in salads!
Suddenly Salad just came out with their new Suddenly Grain Salad, which uses brown rice, red rice, quinoa, and wheat berries. I was super excited to try them since they would be a perfect sized side dish for my daughter and I on busy weeknights when we need something quick and convenient.
We decided to try the Tuscan Grains flavor and both of us absolutely loved it! This one had brown rice, quinoa and wheat berries, with almonds and a tomato parmesan herb dressing. The dressing was delicious, and went perfect with the grain variety it came with. I decided to add in some diced garden fresh tomatoes for a boost of flavor. It would also be good with some diced cucumber or chopped grilled chicken to make it more of a complete meal instead of a side! Even better with topped off with some shredded parmesan cheese!
There are also 2 other flavors available, Southwest Grains and Harvest Grains. We can't wait to give them a try! Southwest Grains would be great with some chopped bell pepper, sliced green onions or canned green chilies and the Harvest Grains would be delicious with some chopped apple or feta cheese added in! It's also such a great way to get more grains in your diet! You can find them in the rice, grain or pasta aisle of your local grocer, or online.
