Slow cooker meals are an absolute time saver, especially when school is in session and weekdays are extra busy. This slow cooker chicken parmesan is great for families! We usually serve over spaghetti noodles, but any pasta would work fantastic! Angel hair would be especially fast is you're short on time.

The sauce is flavorful, the frozen chicken strips are such a great shortcut and the freshly shredded parmesan cheese has the best flavor. Sometimes I add extra cheese just because we love it SO much!

If you have leftovers, they reheat well for lunch the next day too!

tomatoes and seasonings being stirred in a black crock pot.

You can add or substitute with these ingredients:

  • use fresh minced garlic instead of garlic powder
  • use dried or fresh basil instead of Italian seasoning
  • use jarred pasta sauce instead of the canned tomatoes and seasonings
  • use mozzarella cheese instead of parmesan
  • use regular thawed chicken tenderloins instead of breaded strips

Recipe tips:

  • Freshly shredded Parmesan cheese is recommended because it melts easily and has much better taste.
  • I used the Tyson frozen breaded chicken strips sold at Sam’s Club.
