I’ve got the perfect Christmas treat to make your holiday celebrations extra sweet! If you’re a Grinch fan, these candy-coated strawberries are a must, they’re fun, festive, and totally addicting.

They’re always a hit with my family, both kids and adults love them! The juicy strawberries paired with candy melts, crunchy sprinkles, and frosting make every bite deliciously sweet and full of holiday cheer. You can even make them ahead of time! While we like to prep ours the day of, they’ll keep for up to two days in the fridge in an airtight container (though honestly, they never last that long at our house!).

These treats are perfect for a Grinch-themed party or for snacking on while watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas, a tradition we never miss each year. They’re festive, fun, and guaranteed to make your heart grow three sizes!

Recipe tips and substitution ideas:

  • If you don’t have a piping bag or #18 open star tip, you can substitute a quart size ziploc bag, and just cut the tip with kitchen shears to create small dots instead of stars.
  • The candy melts will not adhere to cold strawberries. Make sure they are room temperature before dipping.

Grinch Strawberries

Grinch Strawberries are a fun and festive holiday snack! Juicy strawberries get dipped in candy melts, covered in sprinkles, and decorated with frosting, making them irresistible for Christmas gatherings and movie nights alike.

Ingredients

  • 8 large strawberries, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup green candy melts
  • 1/2 cup green sugar sprinkles
  • frosting (store bought or homemade)
  • red heart shaped sprinkles
  • cake pop/lollipop stick
  • frosting piping bag
  • size #18 open star tip decorating tip

Instructions

  1. Remove the hull from each strawberry. Pat dry on a paper towel, so that the candy melts will adhere better to the strawberries.
  2. Melt the green candy melts per the package instructions in a glass bowl. Insert a cake pop/lollipop stick into the pointy end of each strawberry, and then dip the flat end of the strawberry into the melted green candy. Only dip about ⅓ of the strawberry into the melted candy, then immediately dip into the green sugar sprinkles. Remove the cake pop/lollipop stick, and place on a piece of wax paper or parchment paper to set for at least 3 minutes.
  3. While the strawberries are setting, place a #18 open star decorating tip into a frosting piping bag, and cut the tip with kitchen shears. Fill the bag with white frosting of your choice, and pipe small stars all the way around the border of where the green candy/sprinkles meets the strawberries. Pipe one small star on the tip of the strawberries.
  4. Dip a toothpick into the frosting bag, and dot a small amount on the back of a red heart shaped sprinkle, and attach to the green sprinkles on each of the strawberries. Serve immediately or refrigerate until serving.
