My Day of Food and Fun in Birmingham, Alabama! Enjoy an antebellum home tour, popsicles, cupcakes, seafood and so much more!

Last time I shared the first day of our girl's trip in Chattanooga, TN!

Today I'm sharing the places we explored with our one day in Birmingham!

As you'll see, Birmingham was packed full of food for us ladies. We found so many places we wanted to try, then proceeded to try as many as we could!

We started our time in Birmingham by checking into Hampton Inn and Suites I-65/ Lakeshore Dr.

I can't say enough great things about this hotel! The staff was most welcoming and made us feel like were old friends!

It was a great location for us and I highly recommend staying here!

After checking into the hotel, we started the afternoon by exploring the Arlington Antebellum Home!

This 6 acre former plantation home and grounds is such a interesting piece of history, especially for someone like me who loves historical architecture!

It was built between 1845-50 and features a collection of 19th century furniture. Make sure to check out the kitchen house out back, too!

It's so neat to take a step back in time!

The ladies and I had an absolute blast eating dinner at Shrimp Basket!

Our waiter was an older gentleman who was lively, animated and such a great storyteller!

The drinks were fabulous and the food was wonderful!

I ordered the Crab Cake Dinner which includes three gulf lump crab meat patties, grilled and served with a special remoulade sauce, signature shrimp slaw, hushpuppies, corn fritter and red beans and rice!

The shrimp slaw was unique and super delicious, and the rest of meal was tasty too!

We even bought Shrimp Basket t-shirts!

Steel City Pops was at the top of my list, recommended by my lovely co-worker Richell!

I ordered the strawberry lemonade pop on the warm spring day we visited. I'm quite the popsicle fanatic, so I enjoyed every single bite of this homemade popsicle!

You can find an ever changing variety of pops to choose from including fruity, creamy and cookie pops.

I wish I would've had room in my belly to try more than one. My travel mates really enjoyed their pops too!

On our way back to the hotel from Steel City Pops, we had to stop and turn around after spying Dreamcakes!

Popsicles weren't enough of a dessert, we had a craving for something even sweeter!

This place is a dream. You can find cupcakes, macarons, cheesecake and much, much more!

Make sure you stop, even if you were completely full from all our other treats, like us!

Morgan Creek Vineyards 181 Morgan Creek Ln, Harpersville, AL 35078

The next day, we left Birmingham to venture towards Montgomery!

I had a pit stop planned on the way at Morgan Creek Vineyards!

This vineyard had the best wine I've ever taste tested at a winery. If you love sweet wines like I do, then this is defintely the place for you!

The lady working was super informative and really knew her stuff. It was such a relaxing and delicious stop! I highly recommend taking the time, exploring some back roads and stopping here!

We bought a few bottles for the rest of our trip, with plans to order a case online for home.

Next time, I'll be sharing about our day in Montgomery! Check back!
