I’m excited to share one of the easiest Christmas treats ever, Peppermint Oreo Cookie Balls! With just four simple ingredients, these no bake bites are loved by everyone. The chocolate and mint combo is always a hit, and each bite has the perfect mix of creamy, soft, and crunchy textures.
This is a great recipe to get the kids involved, they can count the cookies as they go into the blender, help crush the peppermint candies, and roll the mixture into balls. I love how quick these are to make, and they’re perfect for any holiday party or festive gathering. You can even double or triple the batch for a crowd or switch up the coating for fun variations. Fair warning: they disappear fast because stopping at one is pretty much impossible!

Recipe tips and substitution ideas:
- Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to a week.
- Start with room temperature cream cheese so it blends smoothly with the finely crushed Oreos, and if the mixture feels too soft, chill it for 20-30 minutes to make rolling easier. Aim for evenly sized balls so they chill and coat evenly, and pop them in the freezer for 10-15 minutes before dipping or rolling to help them keep their shape. They’re best stored in the refrigerator for that perfect cool, creamy texture, and if you’re using candy melts, adding a touch of coconut oil helps them melt and coat more smoothly.
- Swap peppermint candies for crushed candy canes, sprinkles, or even crushed Oreos on the outside. Try Golden Oreos, mint Oreos, or other flavored sandwich cookies for a different twist, and use vegan cream cheese if you need a dairy free version. You can roll them in cocoa powder, powdered sugar, or nuts, add a splash of peppermint, vanilla, or almond extract for extra flavor, or mix mini chocolate chips right into the dough.

Ingredients
- 1 - 14.3 ounce package Oreos
- 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 - 10 ounce bag Peppermint Starlight Mints
- 1 - 10 ounce bag Ghirardelli white chocolate melting wafers
Instructions
- Add 4-5 Oreo cookies at a time to a blender or food processor and pulse until finely crushed. Transfer the crumbs to a mixing bowl and repeat until the entire package of cookies is processed.
- Add the softened cream cheese to the bowl of crushed Oreos and mix well with a hand mixer until fully combined. Roll the mixture into 1-tablespoon-sized balls and place them on a parchment lined baking sheet. Refrigerate for 1 hour to firm up.
- While the Oreo balls chill, place the peppermint candies in a zip-top bag and crush them using a kitchen mallet or rolling pin. Transfer the crushed peppermint to a shallow bowl.
- After one hour, remove the Oreo balls from the refrigerator. Melt the white chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl according to the package directions.
- Dip each Oreo ball into the melted white chocolate, then immediately roll or sprinkle with crushed peppermint. Place the coated balls on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and allow them to dry completely.
- Serve or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
