Recipe tips and substitution ideas:
- You can use ginger ale instead of ginger beer for a slightly sweeter and milder flavor. For a fun twist, add a splash of apple flavored liquor to turn it into a Caramel Apple Mule. Fresh herbs or apple slices are also great garnishes.
- Make sure to use a copper mug! Copper mugs aren’t just traditional, but they keep your drink ice cold and enhance the overall experience. Always use plenty of ice. Fill the mug to the top with ice to keep the drink crisp and refreshing without diluting it too quickly.
- A good ginger beer makes all the difference. Look for one with a strong, spicy kick or use ginger ale for a sweeter, milder option.
- For the best result, chill your vodka, ginger beer, and mugs ahead of time so the drink stays cold longer.
