Breakfast is absolutely, hands down, my favorite meal of the day. As much as I love breakfast, I also love sleeping in. My daughter is twelve, so I feel super blessed that she also sleeps in right along with me.

That doesn't leave a whole lot of time for breakfast at breakfast time. Most of my breakfast is made for brunch, lunch or dinner, which is quite okay since breakfast recipes can be fast and easy to make.

Today's recipe is defintely fast and easy!

This Bacon and Egg Crescent Bake is great for those busy weekdays, or even a weekend brunch. The layers of crescent, cheese, bacon, onion and egg is a perfect bite each time and it's hearty and filling.

The prep is simple and it only takes 30 minutes to bake!

My boyfriend and I both love how it turned out and it's defintely something I'd make often at our house.

The best thing about this recipe? It's super versatile!

I used sliced pepper jack cheese, but this would also be great with swiss, American, cheddar or colby jack.

Instead of bacon, try chicken, turkey or pork sausage, turkey bacon, chorizo or leftover steak.

You can use a combo of onion and bell pepper, or skip the onion and use just bell pepper, jalapeno, black beans, spinach, kale or mushrooms.

When whisking the eggs and milk, add some freshly chopped parsley, cilantro or basil for an extra burst of flavor.

Instead of celery salt, try truffle salt, garlic salt, cajon seasoning or season salt.

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  3. Place cheese slices evenly over dough. Sprinkle with bacon and onion.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, celery salt and pepper. Pour over bacon and onion.
  5. Separate remaining crescent dough into triangles. Arrange over egg mixture, but do not seal.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown and filling is set.
