We've been making these breaded salmon nuggets at our house for about a year now and I'm so excited to share them with you today. They're a quick favorite for lunch, dinner or served as an appetizer.

These salmon bites turn out so crispy and the dipping sauce adds such a perfect amount of heat with every bite. If spicy isn't your thing, you can use your favorite dipping sauce or squeeze some fresh lemon juice on top before eating. We sometimes serve them with this Red Lobster Tartar Sauce recipe!

Each batch takes only 10 minutes in our Ninja basket air fryer. They're so fast to cook, making them a favorite for busy weeknights when I need to get dinner on the table. We serve them with a simple side salad, some steamed veggies or air fryer fries.

It might sound a little odd, but I actually love eating the leftover nuggets cold, straight from the fridge! We rarely have any left, but when we do, they make the perfect quick and tasty snack.

Recipe tips and substitution ideas:

  • Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days. This is best reheated in the air fryer to help get them crispy again.
  • I did not preheat my air fryer before cooking and used a Ninja basket style air fryer. It tends to run hot compared to other air fryers, so adjust the time accordingly and use a meat thermometer to make sure the internal temp reaches 145 degrees F.
  • You can use lemon pepper in place of Creole seasoning for a different flavor twist. Try substituting ranch dressing for mayo in the dipping sauce for a tangy variation, or use my homemade tartar sauce instead of the sriracha mayo for a classic touch.
  • A squeeze of fresh lemon juice on top before serving adds a bright, fresh finish. For extra heat, mix a little cayenne pepper into the breading. Red jalapeno garlic seasoning is also a great alternative to Creole for a bold, garlicky flavor.
