Chai tea lattes have always been one of my absolute favorite drinks, so of course I had to give this classic a cozy fall twist! This Pumpkin Chai Latte combines milk, chai tea, real pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and pure maple syrup for a warm and comforting drink filled with all the best flavors of fall. It's rich and creamy without being complicated, and you can have it steaming in your favorite mug in just minutes.

Making your favorite fall drinks at home is also a great way to skip the coffee shop while still enjoying something that feels like a special treat. The chai brings plenty of warm spice, while the pumpkin adds richness and the maple syrup provides just the right amount of sweetness. Top your Pumpkin Chai Latte with whipped cream and an extra sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon for the perfect finishing touch. It's wonderful for chilly mornings, relaxing afternoons, or sipping while you enjoy your favorite fall dessert.

Recipe tips:

  • For the smoothest Pumpkin Chai Latte, whisk the pumpkin puree into the milk thoroughly and heat everything gently over low to medium heat without allowing it to boil. Taste before serving and adjust the maple syrup or pumpkin pie spice to your preference, since chai concentrates can vary in sweetness and spice level.

Swaps and additions:

  • If you prefer bagged chai tea or loose leaf chai, first steep one chai tea bag in ½ cup boiling water for about 5 minutes after removing the water from the heat. Remove the tea bag, then add the remaining ingredients, omitting the chai concentrate. Whisk well and gently reheat until hot and steaming.
  • Whole milk gives this latte a rich, creamy texture, but you can substitute 2% milk, half and half, oat milk, almond milk, or another favorite milk. Swap the maple syrup for honey, brown sugar, or your favorite sweetener, and adjust the amount to taste. Any black tea would work in place of chai.
  • For even more fall flavor, add extra cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cardamom, or a splash of vanilla extract. Add a shot of espresso for a pumpkin chai dirty latte, or top your drink with whipped cream, frothed milk, a drizzle of caramel or maple syrup, and a sprinkle of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice.
