We've been making these breaded salmon nuggets at our house for about a year now and I'm so excited to share them with you today. They're a quick favorite for lunch, dinner or served as an appetizer.

These salmon bites turn out so crispy and the dipping sauce adds such a perfect amount of heat with every bite. If spicy isn't your thing, you can use your favorite dipping sauce or squeeze some fresh lemon juice on top before eating. We sometimes serve them with this Red Lobster Tartar Sauce recipe!

Each batch takes only 10 minutes in our Ninja basket air fryer. They're so fast to cook, making them a favorite for busy weeknights when I need to get dinner on the table. We serve them with a simple side salad, some steamed veggies or air fryer fries.

This might sound crazy, but I love the leftover nuggets cold, straight from the fridge as a snack. It's not often we have leftovers, but when we do they turn into a delicious snack.

Air Fryer Breaded Salmon Nuggets with Sriracha Mayo Sauce

  • Salmon:
  • 1 pound skinless salmon fillets, cut into 1 ½ inch pieces
  • ½ tablespoon creole seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 large egg
  • Breading:
  • ½ cup all purpose flour
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ tablespoon paprika
  • ½ tablespoon onion powder
  • ½ tablespoon garlic powder
  • ½ tablespoon creole seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt
  • olive oil
  • Sauce:
  • ¼ cup mayo
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  1. In a bowl, combine salmon pieces, ½ tablespoon creole seasoning and 1 teaspoon parsley until salmon is evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  2. Lightly beat an egg in a separate bowl. Mix together the flour, breadcrumbs, paprika, onion powder, ½ tablespoon garlic powder, ½ tablespoon creole seasoning and garlic salt until combined.
  3. Brush the air fryer crisper plate with olive oil.
  4. Place half the salmon pieces in the egg and coat evenly. Then add a few salmon pieces at a time to the breading mixture, evenly coat and place on the air fryer crisper plate.
  5. Lightly brush the top of the salmon with olive oil then air fry at 400 degrees F for 5 minutes. Flip then cook for another 4-5 minutes until crispy and internal temperature reaches 145 degrees.
  6. Repeat above steps with remaining salmon pieces.
  7. Meanwhile, mix together the mayo, sriracha, 1 teaspoon parsley and ½ teaspoon garlic powder in a small bowl until combined.
  8. Serve salmon nuggets with the sriracha mayo sauce for dipping.

I did not preheat my air fryer before cooking and used a Ninja basket style air fryer.

Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
